I accidentally left my iTunes playing while I went into the city for 5 hours today, so the numbers are more interesting. A bit more like what they'll be like when I get a new set of headphones.

As you can see, Deas Vail left a very nice impression on me, as I hope they do you. And of course the new Snow Patrol track finally sold me in grand fashion, earning its top spot. Paramore continues its reign on the charts, just now in the form of a different song.

Charts: Week of September 7

So apparently the charts from August 30 were somehow deleted from the blog. This made ensuring my numbers were accurate very difficult. Oh well.

The constant rotation playlist on my computer/iPod went through a rather large shift in style and tone in the middle of the week, which will explain why there's such a strange combonation of music this week. Either way, here's the most played music from this week.

A Day Late And A Dollar(Ish) Short

Because I'm lazy and posting a full chart takes more work than its gonna be worth now that it's 24 hours late, I'm just gonna widget the top 5 and talk about a couple tracks.



So yeah, the top track is from the CitizensFOB Mixtape I keep promising to talk about. It's pretty fantastic

And the other really noteworthy part is the new track from The Crash Motive, who finally released their EP Just Cause It Never Happened Don't Mean It Won't earlier this week, and its gone into constant rotation already.

VLM Charts: Week of August 16

Thanks to the wonders of last.fm, and a longstanding desire to do something like this, I'm launching a weekly play chart on ¡Viva La Mainstream! The chart consists of the top 10 songs I played on either my iPod or iTunes each week. Every Saturday at noon(ish), I'm going to take the "Last 7 Days" stats from last.fm for individual tracks, and use that as the data for the charts. This weeks numbers aren't terribly interesting, but cut me a break, it's my first time out.

As you can see this week was still very centered on stuff from Virgin Festival, but the new Jack's Mannequin song "The Resolution" ultimately took the top spot (mostly on the grounds that there was only one version of said track) So there you go. This'll get more interesting as time passes. This first one was just confirming that I can in fact make it happen.
